Now play dead, Milo told him.
By the time the guards showed up, the two prisoners were a
mess, lying unconscious on the floor, nursing their wounds. Looks
like it was a tie, said one of the guards as they carried them to the
penitentiary hospital.
In the hospital quarters they were placed upon gurneys and
watched over by armed guards, until the physicians returned from
their lunch break.
Not another brawl, one of them said. Okay, lets dope em up.
The doctors injected both Milo and Gareth with a heavy sedative. The
guards left the doctors alone to stitch up the wounds of the
incapacitated patients. They started working on Gareth.
This one looks familiar, doesnt he? the nurse said to the
doctor, making sure his stitches left a bold scar.
Ah, all these thugs all look the same to me, the doctor replied,
finishing up, Ugly, angry at the world. If only we could do surgery on
their souls too. Look at the Latin guy over there. He probably raped
his sister. Or killed his brother. Or robbed his mother. Hell, hes
probably killed more people than I have!
They both laughed and moved on to Milo.
Malpractice makes perfect, the nurse replied.
It sure does. Thank God I dont have to work in a real hospital
any more! All those pesky lawsuits.
Yeah, the nurse replied, And here we can get all the free drugs
we want!
The doctor put his face close to Milos. And Ill bet youre
jealous!
he said.
Milo bolted up, striking the doctors forehead with his own and
sending him to the floor. He grabbed the nurse by the collar and
knocked him out by banging his head against the operating table.
Wha woo I wah widah weekazz shihhh? Milo replied groggily,
Shizz li chooble vihamminsta
me
. He could barely get himself off
the table. He rolled off instead, landing on the stunned doctor and
knocking him out. Milo struggled to get up, looking around for
amphetamines to counteract the sedative.
I neeb you helb, homey, he called over to the sleeping Gareth
as he searched, We gon gettn deh fugg outta heah.
